I would not consider Mahogany really a dark brown so that is why I have to ask....I have a pair of Johnston and Murphy Mahogany Durst shoes and was wondering if they will be ok with charcoal and navy.

Charcoal is very versatile, not as versatile as mid-grey (in my opinion) and mahogany shoes will go well with charcoal suits.

Personally, I find navy less versatile then charcoal but not by much and again, mahogany shoes will go well with navy suits.

I wear mahogany with both navy and charcoal. I think it looks fine, and have never had anyone say otherwise. I say go for it.

Picked them up for $30 at a going out of business sale. Never wore brown shoes normally black so was going to try a different look.

I agree, but I generally like the color combination (charcoal suit and mahogany shoes).

Getting some brown shoes is a good call. From my brief time on the forum, I've learned that black dress shoes are not typically worn in the professional world (or in general) nearly as much as I thought. Also, $30 is a decent deal if you even remotely like them.

Can't wear these with a suit - for work, as least. These are strictly a casual shoe.

The color combo is good, but not with those shoes.

Yes, that bad. What about AE or J&M dark brown cap-toe oxfords?
