I was in Madrid this past December right around Christmas. Bought a pair of very nice Carmina shell boots. Everyone's already chimed in on the stores to visit, but I would also recommend Mercado de La Reina on Gran Via (It's right next to Museo Chicote). Get the Jamon Iberico platter. Totally worth it.

I'm taking a daytrip to Madrid (from Malaga area) by train and have around 9 hours there. I want to see as much as possible of the city, but also visit some shops. I was thinking about restricting myself to only the Carmina and Mermin retail store, or are there any other must see retail stores?
