I'm thinking about wearing madras pants, inspired by moonrise kingdom. Any thoughts, especially on bleeding madras?

Also is there a difference between patchwork madras and other types? Thanks

Patchwork madras is patchwork -- it's squares of madras stitched together. I like madras pants, but I like that whole look. If you like it a lot, then madras pants are a good choice. They're a big step.

What do you mean? Patchwork is just different pieces sewn together, so it's not going to be smooth...

    Thanks, any favorite brands?

Some look like one complex pattern, while other's I've found really look like a bunch of patterns sewn together

I guess BB? They're the only place that I'm certain has them new. You could look for a vintage pair, too. That could be cool.

If not sewn together it's not patchwork. As for brands, also check out O'Connells.

Huh? How is patch madras made if not by stitching (or "working") together patches?

    That said, I can't believe I forgot O'Connells.

Right, I agree. That's what I said (maybe inartfully). If it's not sewn together panels of madras fabric, it's not patchwork madras.
