madras blazer, jeans, ?

Madras blazers are fairly preppy but I want to try sporting one around campus and in LA when I go home for summer with my diesels, es, and apcs, and chucks. I have an opportunity to snag a pretty nice fitting one for a great price but was wondering what kind of shirts I could pair with it? I figure no polos (fine by me I'm not that into them) and no pink (again no problem). Anyone have any suggestions? The more creative the better.

Madras is usually a big plaid so white shirts are the standard complement. Stripes get busy. But there are all sorts of t shirt graphix that could work.

extremely preppy and versatile...mardas a white shirt and some nice denim is a easy but good outfit

You're going to look preppy in madras no matter what, but if you want to dial down the prep-school factor you could maybe throw a white AA s/s henley under it, or maybe a Krell henley in natural, with a couple bottons undone.
