Other than WW Chan and Jantzen, are there any other tailors of made to measure shirts that I can order shirts via the internet or email.

I don't travel there at all but want to use a HK tailor as the above mentioned 2 tailors have done a monogram for me in a Chinese character which I want to have again.

The reason I want to try someone else is to try new fabrics.

There are some mixed reviews of mytailor.com, but I have used them to good success. The key is to get a good fitting once--they have traveling salesmen. From there you can tweak your measurments. Fabrics and designs can be seen on the the web. They will also send fabric swatches.

Ascott Chang is more expensive (probably twice the price compared to Jantzen maybe more) but regarded as the best in HK. I notice they are being mentioned a lot in Esquire lately so suspect they may be expanding in the US market. Can anyone confirm this?

They've been here for years in NY & LA.

Never though about using chinese characters instead of letters for my monogram... that would be different. Wonder if thats significantly extra?

I doubt it. People in Asia probably have their name written in their native language all the time.

Japan and Korea have an alphabet. Of course, that has to do with American and Western influences.

Granted, all of the traditional characters are Chinese in origin anyway.

Some names are actually pretty complex. My surname is only 2/3 strokes, depending on how you count them. But my actual name is quite complex. Not mine, but the interweb says this one is a common surname in Taiwan.

And even then, Chinese have three names, so three characters. Sure, we can simplify it by only using our family name, but how would we distinguish amongst family members or really common names? The only solution that makes sense then is to use the given name or all three characters.
