I just received a pair of brown captoes bought off ebay. They were advertised as 'purple label' but I didn't think they were from the pictures. They have 'Ralph Lauren Made in England' in cursive script inside, so I guess Crocketts and Jones. I just wanted to say that they're very nice indeed. Just about the nicest that I've seen. Well, that's all I have to say

I think they may be EG because C&J for RL are labeled POLO. What are the numbers inside? What do the heel and sole look like?

One week ago I also found a new Ralph Lauren Made in England dress shoes, chestnut color advertised as "Polo" by the seller. It came with original box labeled "Ralph Lauren," "Burnished Chestnut," M9101702 and "Bench Made in England." It is inscribed inside the shoe "RLE-550/9946" as well. The bottom of the sole is labeled "Polo."

Sole says 'polo'. I'm fairly certain that they're not EGs but they are a notch or two above my Hacketts (also C&J I believe).
