I watched this show and besides it being probably the best show on cable its also the best styled. I decided if I was going to wear a suit that was going to be the way to do it. Problem is I don't know where to start. I didnt post this in MC because I dont really like the Kiton, Brioni, et al. contemporaneous look, I dont have money and dont want to look like I do. I want style, Mad Men style. Get Smart, I figured you would know better than anyone.

TIA for any help guys.

From what I've seen it looks like a lot of short-collar dress shirts, thin-lapelled suits in textured wools, and thin rep ties. I spotted a few shirts which are obviously Dior Homme. For ties, Band of Outsiders sells rep ties that are similar to the ones in Mad Men.

For suits, there are at least a few labels out there producing similar styles, but why go further than our own Jason's label?

Jason's (TAT)"Ivy Sack" is on the to purchase list. I wanted more of way to achieve that aesthetic. I dont wear suits often, but when I do thats going to be the way to go. I think of it as suits for style minus the priss.

I'm Tivo'ing the premier episode sun nite....forgot it started on thurs

but it looks great, stylistically.

BoO tailored wear does similar looking gear....obviously my TaT line is completely influenced by that period.

Vintage will get you the actual clothes from that era for cheap-ish...only problem I've found with vintage is that the trouser rises are WAAAY higher than i'd like, and finding a good fitting jacket is really hit/miss.
