Other than the Twin Peaks insurance guy, that whole episode sucked. One of the worst in recent memory.

Uh...I thought it was the best episode of this season...:uhoh:

that's a really good point. I've always failed to understand how he can be capable of such nice things (like paying Pete's share of the buy in) and then do the incredibly cruel things as well. I remember him standing up to Betty about not hitting Bobby too. Did you like this episode?
He's not truly a sociopath is the thing. He is just majorly fucked up in the head. Also, the big take away from his maundering to Megan is that he has discovered he does indeed love his oldest son. It's a big development for Don. You see it's not that he cannot feel, but due to his really bad childhood, he's learned to pick and choose who he cares for and how.

No, Don's a miserable ****.

I liked the episode, I thought the Joan hug scene was well presented as a contrast to Peggy's hug of her own.

Decent episode but it seems this season is going toward the same hell as season 3 with all the personal/family dramas and less of the season 1 biz wiz alpha male good stuff.

Is there any business stuff going on this season? That's all I cared about.

I thought the scene in the bedroom with Megan and Don talking about his kids was very powerful. Reminded me a bit of the emotion from what is, quite possibly, the greatest scene in Mad Men history, The Carousel.

I agree that the focus on non business related issues is a little disappointing but there is so much going on in the world at this point it can't be ignored. Kinda wish they would just get rid of Betty and Francis, their story line is in desperate need of a lift.
