    So funny.

I thought it was interesting to compare Pete and Joan's reactions to draper "firing" Jaguar. They were mad for the same reasons, but Joan came off so much more sympathetic.

The writers are being tough on Pete lately.

    Pete:
Public whining over losing relatively small account (Jaguar).
Failed covert attempt at going public.
Infidelities blow up in his face.

    Don:
Refuses to eat shit to keep Jaguar. Gets Chevrolet account.
    Successful covert attempt at merger.
    Infidelities discrete, as usual.

Really? I thought Pete was totally in the right and could care less Joan was miffed she slept with the douche bag "for nothing" (which is bs as she still retains her partnership). It's all amusing his personal disgressions went on to cost the company more money.

Really? You don't think his affair with his neighbor won't blow up in his face? From day one pete has been clumsy, which I've actually enjoyed in his character

Really. I am not predicting the future, only commenting on what has happened.

Btw, Don firing Jag has been telegraphed for some time now; that had clearly been coming for some time.

Best scene was Peggy getting told about the merger. Her facial expressions can convey paragraphs of dialogue. I'm also interested to see how her personal life goes over the rest of the season. Interesting her first comment was that she had just purchased a place. I predict she kicks the proto-hipster out with the power of her new salary.

Elisabeth Moss has been killing it this season. She should be up for an award this year.

That picture is an outlier. She is a good looking girl in an offbeat sort of way but she only looks like that in one pic. I checked.

This. I had to remind my fiance that PEGGY HAD PETE"S CHILD . . . and Pete KNOWS. I'm excited for major drama between Peggy, Pete, and Peggys boss from CGC.:slayer:

It was a really crazy episode. There were some weird elements that felt so bizarrely out of place on a Mad Men episode, like Peggy dreaming that Abe was Ted, her voice over at the end, etc.

There was SO much going on that each commercial break felt like a welcome respite, to process what had happened and think about what is coming up. My girlfriend predicted the merger as soon as info about them losing Jag and the partner at the other firm having cancer and needing to get bought out came to light.

I'm glad we got a very "business" heavy episode. No Sylvia, no Betty Francis, and minimum historical events getting in the way of the story.

I loved Roger being a badass and Joan chewing out Don was magical.

i don't understand the notion that Don is "bored" with the wife so he bangs the neighbor. He has a hard day at work, laments it with the wife, and she gives him an unsolicited beej. How is that boring?

I am always waiting for who Megan's mother is going to bang next. I think she's lined up to screw the good Doctor soon.

Pulling Megan's panties off and rattling the walls banging while the mother opens a bottle of wine was classic and hilarious.

What I'm interested to see is the fall out of Peter telling Trudy about the father. The father must want to be outed, based on his actions and that conversation, so I think Pete is going to lose on that gambit in the end.

Megan doesn't usually do that, I guess. Her mother told her to make him want her more before the Jag dinner. Best advice to any girl ever.

I'm thinking that the FIL thought Pete was at the whore house to sleep with Bob, who was accompanying him, and therefore pulled Vick's and called Pete disgusting. If the FIL thought Pete was just there to get his dick wet then I don't think it would have been a big deal, like Ken put it.

Interesting thought; you could well be correct there.

The father knows that Pete is seen as an asshole by everyone, especially his wife, so he didn't give a fuck. He wants Pete gone and knew his daughter would assume Pete to be trying to lie his way out of something else. Had Pete told her first he may have had a case but it looked like he was trying to cover his own ass. The dad played the cards perfectly and Pete is fucked on both ends now.

WHy would they go to a whore house to have sex with each other? That would eliminate the need for said whore house. Those rooms are surely reserved for the whores to do their whoring.

To get away from spouses? Just throwing out the idea because it seems to me that the FIL's overreaction was a bit much considering he was in said whorehouse, a rather compromising position. For him to spill the beans on Pete it would have had to be such a great offense to overshadow his own. It was just a thought.

edit* Also, Bob Benson and his shit eating grin cracks me up. When he had the two coffees while the partners were in the conference room...I died. He's becoming an even greater caricature of the brown nosing Pete Campbell of Season 1.
