I was re-watching seasons 1 and 2 recently and I freeze framed a scene where Don's paycheck is visible. By Oct 11th, 1962, Don Draper had earned $48,400. Convert the value from 1962 to 2011 dollars (Wolfram Alpha is great) and it's $351,000. His net weekly paycheck was $947.75, or $6924.84 in 2011. He got $500,000 when Sterling-Cooper sold to the Brits - $3,653,000.

Pete, at $75 a week in 1960 is equivalent to a $30K a year salary today.
