I wish they didn't skip so much time and jump right into Thanksgiving. It just seems odd given the past seasons.

On the flip side, have we had a MadMen Christmas yet? I can't seem to recal one, so this would be a good development.

I agree that Henry isn't such a bad guy. Betty is a ****. Sally is a spoiled brat.

Betty is spoiled too, which I think that was the entire purpose of the storyline with her dad. She was obviously his little girl, which puts Don in a difficult position. If he doesn't spoil her...well, just look what's happened. She's indignant at every turn, and she seems to feel truly justified in wanting everything. It's Don's house, but she won't move out, and there seems to be no particular reason, just some garbage about no place good enough for the kids.

and yes, Betty is very obviously spoiled. I liked her a lot more when she was just a benign house wife whose only responsibility was to gossip all day with Francine.

I think this new agency gives Don a lot of interesting power. At SC, Roger was very clearly above Don on the pecking order ... now, it doesn't necessarily feel that way, even when Roger is scolding Don. It brings me back to the scene where Roger invites himself over to Don's house and hits on Betty big time - and I wonder how that would boil over if that were to happen with the current dynamic they have in the new office.

I really think she would have her head screwed on straight if he only nailed her regularly.

Wasn't it at an Xmas party the guy got his foot lawn-mowed off?

perhap this is correct, for some reason the other Christmases have been unmemorable to say the least.

And the foot chop stunt was stupid for the show, IMO.

Well it's not so much she won't move out as she doesn't want to......i'm sure that will play out.

That was really my point. She seems to feel perfectly justified in staying put.

Any decent restaurant served wine in the 60s. It's just that you only had 2 choices: red or white.

Anyone know what happened to the actual agencies that handled cigarette accounts after the report?

Strictly anecdotal, but my recollection was that cigarette advertising dominated TV from that time until it was banned. I was 7 in 64 and still remember the ad campaigns:
Marlboro Man
Chesterfield auctioneer
I'd rather fight than switch (Tareyton)
Lucky Strikes mean fine tobacco
Have a Lark, have a Lark, have a Lark today
Winston tastes good like a cigarette should
