In fairness, when Don fired Jaguar and screwed up the IPO, nobody told him that there was an IPO. Perhaps things would not have gotten screwed up if they had looped him in. Not saying that firing Jaguar was a great move (especially after what Joan went through to get the company to begin with), but you can't just not tell someone that you are planning an IPO and then get pissed when it gets screwed up.

Oh come on, she didn't know this new opportunity was coming.

She lives in an apartment with her mother so I'd imagine she isn't getting a whole hell of a lot.

Don fucked up her bank account and she was pissed.

she hates don, or at least is really pissed at him, i get that. she has cause for that. though it was her choice to be a whore for jaguar. but she comes off as a bitch, not just a decent person who has legitimate beef with don.

She didn't have to buy into the partnership but she did have to fuck a fat fuck to get in.

    I understand that...

I'm just saying that by not having to come up with partnership cash, it's not like she had to dump all of her savings/take a loan/repurpose a down payment. Sure, there might not have been a lot of savings if she was expecting Rapey McHusband to take care of her, but unlike the senior partners, her financial situation was made no worse by the SCDP move.

Yup. Her reaction was out of proportion to her particular situation, from both a monetary standpoint, and from her relationship with Don. I could get her being very pissed but I do not get her actively trying to destroy Don's career given the history between the two of them.

Never underestimate a woman's will to destroy one's career for petty motivation.

come on now... you realize what the mid season "finale" was right? it was an old speghetti western set in 1969.

everyone fits the bill - don's the maverick, cooper is the mayor, sterling is the vice mayor, and cutler is the scary quasi-villian sheriff.

hell cutler had his "oh shit this sheriff/gunslinger is a force for ya'll to be reckon'd with!" after letting Lou posture a lot before instantly killing him with one shot to the heart. then cutting don's knees right out from under him with a smile on his face.

and who's Joan? she's the one who is cool at first but finds gold and succumbs to gold fever. the guy with gold fever always ends up willing to sacrifice friends and even family to get the gold.

When did Don have his knees cut out from under him in the finale by Cutler? Seemed to me Don smacked him around pretty good at least twice.
