Does anyone have any experience with the Mackintosh Dunkeld raincoat? Apparently, it's a slimmer version of the Duncan. While we're at it, how's their coated linen fabric? It sounds like it could be good for rainy summer days.

I bought one a while ago. It's cut slim. I'm generally a size 36 but I went for 38, which is comfortable and I can just barely fit a sport coat underneath . Narrow shoulders and sleeves, high armholes. I got mine from Nitty Gritty and it came with a removable wool liner in Black Watch plaid. If you're not familiar with Mackintosh bonded cotton fabric, you'll probably find it unusual. It's very stiff and I find it wears pretty warm, so it's probably best for cooler days. It also has a distinctive smell. Completely waterproof though. I really like the coat and enjoy wearing it.

Anyone else have experience here? When people say a 38 is slim even for a 38, are they talking that it's slim in the chest / shoulders / what? I tend to wear things slim and normally wear a 38 but not sure if I should go 40. No one stocks the dunkeld in Chicago. Thanks in advance for the input.

He means Haberdash, which is a brick and mortar men's clothing store in Chicago. You can call and order from them, though. And yes, they do stock it. I found that out a little after posting this, but thank you very much for the heads up.

Many thanks - they seem a bit short though.
