I believe there are also some VBC woolen flannels in the 12-15 ounce range that might fit the bill, as well.

I couldn't see any 13oz + in mid-grey! @luxire would you be able to provide links if any exist?

The one I had in mind is apparently sold out: https://luxire.com/products/vitale_...-vbc_562_801_3?_pos=37&_sid=401a01517&_ss=r#/

If you go to 11 ounces, there is this: https://luxire.com/products/vbc_mid...c_wr_504_801_3?_pos=17&_sid=401a01517&_ss=r#/

This might be lighter in color than you want, but it's 12 ounces: https://luxire.com/products/vitale_...bc_562_801_511?_pos=65&_sid=401a01517&_ss=r#/

Maybe darker, but still 12 ounces: https://luxire.com/products/vitale_...-vbc_562_801_4?_pos=68&_sid=401a01517&_ss=r#/

12 ounces: https://luxire.com/products/vitale_...vbc_562_801_4?_pos=106&_sid=401a01517&_ss=r#/

There are some others at 9 and 10 ounces (and slightly darker or lighter colors), but I've assumed you ruled those out already.

Thank you! I was hoping for something heavier, 13-15oz.

Does anyone have informed thoughts on the advantages of the Minnis flannel over the EThomas flannel? Luxire seems to like EThomas but I'm wondering why the Minnis is much more popular and used while the EThomas flannel is not as well known.

Never had anything made in either, but I can say that of the swatches I had in my hand a few years ago when I was in the Luxire offices, the Minnis felt much stiffer/like cardboard than the EThomas swatches. I'm not sure if that was "book to book"/apples to apples, or what that means as far as what you'd get from a wearing experience. I tend to go towards a more luxurious, softer feel in my flannels, so I'd go for the EThomas in comparison to the Minnis. Having said that, there are some great patterns in the Minnis cloth Luxire has that may lead to me having suits made in their cloth, as well.
I have no input whatsoever on longevity/wear of either, if that matters to you.

That's a fair question.
Minnis sells by the yard. It is a lot more accessible to many tailors. Hence more known/popular. Minnis (HFW) is a dealer who gets fabrics made by different mills, including ones in UK, Italy, Turkey and China.
Compared to Minnis, I would rate Fox flannel a lot higher in quality. They too sell by the yard and are also quite popular. They are a mill.
Dugdale is a dealer too, with a tight focus on quality. When we started selling Dugdale 8 years ago, they were hardly known and had a small range of offerings.

EThomas sells by the bolt, that too made on order, with a 3 month delivery cycle. Hence known to very few. EThomas makes only very premium fabrics. As they started making fabrics as a supplier to the British army, being sturdy and reliable is a part of their DNA.
Their clientele today are the top designer brands, who seldom disclose their supplier names.
Same can be said about Duca Visconti for cottons.

On our part, we study each fabric we receive, run them through different quality and usability tests before offering them for sale. Then, based on customer feedback, we decide whether it should continue to be offered.

To us, it makes no difference at all if the customer chooses one fabric we offer over the other. We just want each garment of ours to be worn month after month, wash after wash for years.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts @WhereNext and @luxire, they were very helpful. Luxire, do you also offer Fox woollen flannel (13oz) in a grey similar to the EThomas/Minnis?

EDIT: Something like 'CBT5 A1285/22'

Thanks. Can you provide some fabric codes and photos of mid-grey Fox Flannel similar to the Minnis Flannel at 13oz or heavier?
