Hello, first time poster, long time lurker.

I've ordered a couple things before, with my only complaints being based on my own mismeasurement. But, those drafts were worthwhile tests.

I recently received a pair of the camel heavy wool (90/10 nylon) pants based on measurements from a 30's/40's suit that fits perfectly. I was absolutely stoked with how they turned out - they fit perfectly out of the box and the way the heavyweight fabric draped was ideal. (And +1 for lining on that fabric).

So I enthusiastically ordered two more pairs with identical measurements, one in grey heavy wool (90/10 nylon) (which I presumed was the same as the camel), and one in VBC 15oz Covert.

I immediately noticed the grey was floppy, and not as firm as the camel, which was a bummer. Also, I noticed both pairs seemed noticeably tighter, even though I'd provided the same measurements. But the big problem was that there was a distinct "twist" to the right leg of the grey pants. I took one photo where I let lie naturally, and then one where I tried to straighten it out a bit.

It's handy that my mom, now in her 80's, is a retired Neapolitan born and trained couturière, because she could easily see how the misalignment of certain pieces created the problem. I need the pants soon, so she started taking them a part, and it's going to take her several hours to fix the problem.

Thankfully with the Navy covert, there was just a small issue with the bottom of one leg that didn't involve her having to completely open up the crotch, and inside seam all the way down the leg.

So, my quandary is this: I was so stoked with the camel pair, and I've three pairs of pants in my chart ready to purchase at the BF sale prices, but I'm really loathe to have them arrive and not be as well made and as well measured as the camel pair.

I have emailed CS with the photos, but considering their inundation with BF sales orders means I'm not expecting to get an answer soon. Thoughts?

Both happy and sad to hear about your experiences!
I can only echo with your comments. Unfortunately I have also seen noticeable differences in fit between orders, despite asking Luxire to replicate the fit from a past order. I've also seen noticeable differences between two pairs of shorts I ordered at the same time with the same measurements. One being approx 3cm tighter around the waist, than the other.

I just recently had 2 shirts delivered with the collar being 3cm too large on one of them, despite having the same measurements on both orders (still waiting for the reorder to be shipped though, and its been a month now)

A lot of the errors boil down to the MTM element of Luxire. Hence I highly recommend sending them a reclamation email with the photos, and I'm somewhat sure that they'll figure it out.
Just keep following up, and if no response, tag them here in a post, and they'll pick it up.

Which blue oxford cloth do you guys find the best one? I know of course this is a subjective matter, but would be nice to hear your opinion.

This one looks very nice.

Any recommendations for a heavy beige cotton for trousers? Like that in a US Army chino? I had these made by Luxire some years ago in a fabric they called 'Beige Twill Chino' and wore them until they literally fell apart. They stopped carrying that fabric though and I've never found anything that comes close.

@luxire does luxire.in belong to you for your Indian customers? Or is this a fake website pretending to be you ?

I second that as well. I have been searching Luxire in vain for a heavy cotton twill fabric in beige or greige. They suggested Brisbane Moss Keats Heavy Cotton Twill. BM was kind enough to send me their Keats swatch book, but none of the colors were a good match.

Herby the fitpics from my first shirt order.
A lot of fine tuning to do, but the shirt itself fits comfortably (has been washed 3 times now).
I will go over the photo's with Luxire to make it fit even better.
I used a rtw shirt from Drakes that fit me reasonably well, but my right shoulder has a significant drop, so we will have to adjust the pattern for that, also the cuffs are a bit too wide (sleeve length I like). I also have enough room at the arms and shoulder. The armholes can be made a little higher.
But main thing is the shoulder part (nothing Luxire could have known, because Drakes rtw also fit's the same, maybe even a little smaller). So I think we have a pretty good blueprint for the next shirt.

TLDR: we need to address the shoulder part, but if this was normal rtw I would be more than satisfied.

This looks great. I have a similar shoulder issue. Please let us know how you solve it.

How do you like the quality of the fabric itself vs drakes?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
