First Luxire order placed tonight can't wait to get my shirt
Experienced this with multiple shirt makers. Each tailor cuts slightly differently and sews slightly differently and that can create small variations. Also each fabric makes up slightly differently. Combined these can create exactly what you just described.
Sky blue summer chambray. Just ordered one shirt to ensure that the fit is right. From there, I'll be ordering a variety of staple blue shirts, some oxfords, ginghams, stripes, checks.
Linen SC looks great. How much handwork is involved?
What should I request, as far as fusing/lining is concerned, if I want a slightly structured collar. But not like the default Luxire stiff collar. Would I need to ask for lightly lined, but no fusing?
Is there a certain way that Luxire recommends measuring a shirt? I am trying to make sure the fit translates well.
Also, can one specify very square shoulders or neck forward?
I didn't saw that of the type of shoulders.
Question: If I have sloping shoulders... how will that affect the shoulder to shoulder seam measurement?
Thanks for the link Louis.
BG - I don't think it will affect the seam to seam measurement as much as it dictates the placement of the armholes. I am not an expert on this, so please take this with a grain of salt.
To those who have gotten well fitted shirts, are you taking body measurements or previous shirt measurements?
And could someone explain the basic collars that Luxire offers - are they super stuff/fused, etc.?
Has anyone ordered a shirt with a collar like this Mattabisch by Kiton one? If so, how did it turn out and what measurements and specifications did you use?
Here are the pics of my shirt, going to wash it today and iron it later, that's why it's all full of wrinkles and I just took the pics did not wear it like that.
For my next order I will shorten the chest, I asked for 23.5" will lower it to 23" and the waist from 19" to 18.5". I asked for 19.5" shoulder seam to shoulder seam. I'm glad that I can extend my arms without feeling that the fabric is going to cut through my lats. The second pic is Barba Napoli shirt, it has 19" from shoulder to shoulder and 22" in the chest... and well it's tight as you can notice. What I did is I measured that Barba Napoli and took what I like from it, sleeve lenght, waist measurement and the collar. Then I have another shirt (I don't pics of that one) and took the chest from it, so I kinda mixed the two shirts.
Twins! I measured my Barba too.
Probably better to measure a well fitting shirt IMO
A lot of people seem to mess up body measurements from what I've seen of other mtm services
And I think if you don't specifiy the collar it's fused and lined. I could be wrong though
