Another fun shirt to make....and wear.
received my 2 shirts during the week
need to put them through the wash. Surprisingly grimy and marked, hope it all comes out in the wash. Either the button thread was reaaaly grimy or there is a difference in colour in the thread they used for shanking vs the straight button sewing.. First impressions. fabric and general finish look good. Cuffs and collars nice and soft as I requested. Button shanking not as good as other shirts I have. Buttons a little dissapointing. I note some others have said that the buttons were good. I will compare with one of the above posters who I know personally.
I asked for no luxire label and only the fabric maker label. Was informed that they could not put the fabric maker label which I agreed/acknowledged. Unfortunately they put the luxire label on the inside which I didn't want. I also asked for a contrast gusset. The colour I requested was not available and grey was suggested as an alternative and I agreed. Unfortunately the grey fabric is a check which looks weird and wasn't noted by Luxire at the time.
Will revert on fit once its washed and ironed.
I am a bit surprised to read this review as our quality checks prevent such mishaps from being sent to the customer.
I will strongly review the process again to make sure such a thing can never happen again.
For your shirts, if you would like to have them corrected, will be glad to do that. Have sent you an email with the information.
Quality control has to be constantly monitored. Little things can always happen otherwise.
As a rule, we check measurements and instructions multiple times before a shirt is dispatched.
The instruction is that any smallest of error, even if not visible, should not go through. There are clear processes for cleaning and packing.
But yes, it is a moment of introspection and improving the process. I thank Pasey25 for that.
As for the grey checks, I had chosen it for the contrast gusset even though it was a more expensive fabric than the base shirt. The reason was that I thought it would look best and it was the close in color to what was ordered. On second thoughts, may be I should have checked.
No worries. Even with the very best systems, sometimes little things like this happen. It's how one responds to these situations that make the difference. I'm sure all will be resolved satisfactorilly.
That said, I hope nothing wrong happens with my shirt order
Just placed my first order for a M2M warzone white oxford, will post pictures once received.
hi, everyone. just got my Navy Chambray by Brembana. Numbers are right on. I like fabric very much. Never had chambray so not sure if permanent creases and wrinkles are natural for fabric of this type. I like price and service overall . Paid 60 bucks shipped from India. I guess price went up to 80 USD in past few days! Not sure whats up.... Any way, buttons are nice , but not Borrelli or Barba like. Buttonholes are done so so..., but for such a casual shirt its a minor detail imho. thank you for looking
I think the shirt looks beautiful. The buttonhole was another finishing issue I mentioned in reply to Pasey25, but these have been corrected now. Thank you for the review.
I've never wanted a chambray shirt, nor anything with a button-down collar, but that looks fantastic.
Received my shirt today. Got the tri-stripe super American looking oxford. Love it. Wasn't even planning on wearing it and couldn't resist. Extremely comfortable. The fabric all around was soft and good looking. Buttons are very nice for the price. While I don't see myself getting a super luxury shirt anytime soon I can say that luxire will be my casual shirt maker. Even recommended them already.
hi, thanks for your prompt reply and email. I've washed and checked and have now emailed you back to request the shirts be corrected.
Thank you MS. We appreciate the faith.
Received our samples of 200 fabrics styles from Hield Brothers, England
One more step closer to the pants launch.
I've waited until we nailed things down to post this review, and now we have, so...
Ordered one shirt from Luxire specifying dimensions from my best-fitting shirt. Website was easy enough to use, but I wish your account stored your measurements and that the confirmation e-mail contained them and special instructions as well. That said, I responded to the confirmation message to ensure that some specific instructions were received. Got a quick response, and then got my shirt in less than a week.
The shirt seemed well made and the fabric had a nice hand. I washed and wore it a couple of times, but felt the collar was too snug. Once I pulled out the tape measure, I confirmed that. I sent it back, and Luxire decided to remake the shirt.
Second shirt arrived promptly and was also well made. Luxire had made a few tweaks to their practices, however, and the cuff fit was off. To be clear, the cuff measurement was correct, but the shape of the cuff led to a different fit. I gave this feedback to Luxire, and they elected to remake the shirt and didn't make me send back the second shirt. They also took advantage of this opportunity to tweak the tie space based on my feedback. The tie space was fine and typical, but not my preference. We had not discussed this element of the shirt, however, so I don't consider it a failing on their part.
The third shirt arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but not as quickly as the other two. I had absolutely no problem with this, and note it only in the interest of documenting my full experience with them. This shirt is again well made, and the fit is good.
Luxire have shown themselves to be very focused on satisfying their customers, responsive, and helpful. As they have acknowledged, they are growing and improving their processes, and that shows.
I intend to order more shirts from them.
