Legitimate businesses mail "documents" all the time through customs. The wife and I ordered a stuffed animal for our son the last there day labeled something strange for some reason (stuffed animal didn't seem to warrant changing an import form, but someone disagreed)

To be fair, we are also talking about driving it across the border. My assumption is if it is illegal to mail, it is probably illegal to import through other means as well.

As a clarifying point, This is a joke mostly, and even if I was loudly encouraging Spoo to lie, I doubt that I have any sway over him in that way and he would do, as always, what is best for him and his exceptional clients.

As to your second post, that's not necessarily the case. Import/export rules are generally to govern sales, not personal use. It's illegal to mail gator shoes across the border, but not to wear them across the border, for instance.
