I'm in the market for a new watch, and I'm looking for something like the Bell & Ross Vintage Collection (but in the range of $100-$300). I have a small wrist, so that's why I'm mainly looking for a field watch. Something like the Timex Field Watch even fits into this small category. Thanks in advance for any help!

Yeah, I've since been looking the the Hamilton collection, and I'm seeing some stuff I like! Any other suggestions or a place you'd recommend to buy a Hamilton watch?

I like the selection from J Crew, but I guess I'm still debating over how much/little to spend (I'm already starting to feel impartial to Hamilton watches due to the style). Thanks for all the suggestions!

Well if you like the J Crew Timex, the Seiko 5 Military SNK809K2 (or other models) is very similar at half the price.

Obivously not in the same class as the Hamilton.

I actually bought one of the Seikos but find it is way too small for me. Still unused, with stickers, PM if interested at a great price.

I got the J Crew Timex one as a gift. I have about a dozen nice watches so I never wear it--it's kind of dinky, and I have a small wrist, too. Also, the watch band set up will NEVER fit you--it is way too long, so you will need an aftermarket strap that fits (I got 3 of the J Crew ones with mine and chucked them all). If you want to browse some nice watches, go to www.watchuseek.com, a website where watch guys buy and sell. You can get some great deals and there are always some Hamilton's for sale.

Hard (impossible?) to beat Hamilton in the $300 range. You'll probably want a manual wind version on one of the canvas straps. You can get a nice looking Victorinox piece for less, but it'll almost certainly be quartz.

If you're looking in the bottom end, look at seiko 5's, and be aware they come in more than one size. I went out of my way to get a 38mm one, a lot of similar ones are more like 42+.

Once again, thanks for all the suggestions! The Seikos don't look bad, but I'd rather go for like a worn leather or canvas strap. Otherwise, does anyone know of a good place for buying straps? I'll look at Watchuseek.com for more info too.

By the J Crew strap set, do you mean their poly solid and striped Nato straps?

What would be a nice width of a band for someone with a small wrist?

A while back I was looking at a line of watches really similar to Hamilton in style but in the $100 range. I can't for the life of me remember what the name of the maker was. I just remember they had that style, usually with the face matching the colour of the nato strap. Looked a lot like the Seiko 5 Military. Any ideas?
