If I'm correct, a lot of people here look down to 7FAMK, RR, and other mainstream brands because of their low quality. So what contributes to this factor? Is it construction? Will they fall apart? Or is it mainly because of ****** design and overprice?

Negativeness to the afore-mentioned brands is due not only to the quality-design-price ratio, but also because it has been adopted into a uniform of sorts by trendy-wannabe jackasses around the globe.

Wait, so if everyone's getting dry denim what would you wear?

None of those jeans mentioned are actually low quality. That is a load of ****. Also, not all of them look bad on men - with about 5000 different cuts and washes, some actually do look good. I think that crotchhugging tapered pants look bad on men, far worse than garish pockets or large bootcuts. I'm the minority on this forum, where groupthink has created the idea the only good jean is an original Levi knockoff(politely called a "repro"), in unwashed dark denim.

Low quality jeans are Old Navy, Express, some Gap, American Eagle, A&F, many "hip-hop" lines, BDG from American Outfitters.

Sevens are OK quality, definitely overpriced. True Religions always seem pretty well made, though garish. R&Rs are I think some of the coolest jeans ever, if you have the body and the panache to pull it off.

Agreed.
Personally I hate the super slim girly jeans that are the rage nowadays. But that is an opinion of mine, as are the opinions of those who talk down on the brands that they thought were great a few years back. It's just personal style and the style of the moment on these boards are raw skinny jeans. Remember how different the top 10 list was a few years ago when jeans like PDC and Sevens were on the top.

There is a certain portion of people who dislike anything that is popular, even when they liked the same brand before it became popular and there is this misconception that once something becomes popular the quality always goes down and they aren't good enough anymore. The same thing will be true once everyone is wearing Nudies and APC jeans.

All jeans are denim and all denim wears out. Some are more overpriced than others but most can be found for deals somewhere if you look. Therefore buy what you like and what fits not what people on a message board think.

i could not agree more. go with whatever you like and whatever style you think fits best. I have a few pairs of TR's and i love them. the cuts are nice and the embroidery is interesting. the quality of the denim isn't as good as a 'cane or samurai, but imho, it's difficult to compare because the jeans serve different purposes.

i don't necessarily think a lot of ppl hate the mainstream premium fashion denim. i think most subscribe to the belief that for the money (200+), you can get more material value per dollar spent if you purchase a 'canes, d'artisan, etc... while this is true, the uniqueness of the TR's and RR's create value that doesn't always have to equate to the actual materials involved in the construction process. point is it is highly subjective when deciding what is a more economical or a better value. as long as you can justify your reasons for pulling the trigger, go for whatever product makes you happy.

Yes, the fat stiching and ridiculous horseshoe ass pockets are a very nice touch to a denim collection.

Sorry but I think I have a tiny difference of opinion on TRs.
