I'm looking for a nice rubber soled dress shoe (for walking indoors/outdoors, wet surfaces, etc). I've never been a fan of AE, as I find them very conservative/businessy, and round/bulky.

However, I just came across these two and really love them. To me they're very sleek and stylish.

Unfortunately, my max budget is $300. Any suggestions for shoes like these closer to my price range (plain or cap toe, thin rubber sole, new)?

1. Salvatore Ferragamo Fantino - $400

700

2. Crockett & Jones Hallam (w/ dainite)- $570

Thanks

Thanks
Those Salvatore Ferragamo Fantino at $400 are flimsy blake construction job that would fall apart after 6 months - leather grade isn't great to.

Go for the C&J's Hallam - easily possible to buy for about $350-$450.

Wearing my suede brown Hallam today - picked them up for $395 from my local UK retailer. PM me if you want the details.

If you really like the 2 you mentioned, try looking around at various sites to try to get a better deal on them. Or look under the MarketPlace tab above and check out what members are selling. Someone could give you a good deal! Good luck!

That's very disappointing to hear about the SF Fantino. I figured since they were Blake stitched rather than the cemented studio line, that at least the sole could be redone from reading various threads.

Both of those are utter garbage. Avoid.

If you like the C&J, get those, they are nice shoes.

How is that helpful, if he clearly stated they were out of his price range?

If you are in the US, you won't pay VAT, so it comes out to about $425.

AAh, I see. Unfortunately, total is about $455 with ship. Best price I've seen on the Hallam, but still quite a bit over my price range.
Taken a look at Meermin yet?
http://meermin.es/

Yes, I think they have some very cool shoes. Prices are within my range but I really need a rubber sole, which they don't seem to offer (not a topy fan). Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
