Louis Faglin Cufflinks

Any opinions about Louis Faglin? Saks is selling a pair of LF cufflinks at 80% off, and all they say is "Made in France" and the company and "1899" year. LF has a website and speaks primarily about their cufflinks, which they say are all brass and plated with gold or rhodium. These look gold plated and are a nice design with horses in circles (horseshoes? I'd have to see them again).
All other websites seem to be Far Eastern. Not on Saks website. Orig. price $125 or so, I'm told. I told the salespeople for that price they should be plated, but they didn't want to commit themselves. I sent a note to the company but don't know if I'll get any response.

to me, "made in france," doesn't have the ring to it that it once had. among their cufflinks, i like the classical collection. i think you're better off looking at other cufflinks as opposed with trying to get the store to modify their products.

????? "Don't get what you mean by "modify their products." Going by the major web search engines, I'm curious why a French company, which Saks obviously sells products from, seems to sell mostly in East Asian countries (besides, assumably, in France).

Hello (I know I'm digging up a dead thread but...!), I don't think French cufflinks lost their aura. Compared to brands like tateossian that are younger and yet more of a "crazy" style, I like the vintage feel of the French pieces. To be honest, it is hard to find anywhere else, a brand doing Guilloche for its accessories. Including tie clips and money clips. Maybe I'm wrong, please tell me.
Also, I saw the brand Louis Faglin being in Barneys Japan! So I don't think the trend for French cufflinks is disappearing.
