i remember a couple of months ago i was watching a Tramezza captoe monkstrap that was being opened at 249 dollars, which is 100 dollars less than they usually open for, and i was contemplating buying it, but then edmorel bid on it.
i could have bid over him, but i just figured hey , i respect that he bid, and i was debating, i rather have him win it at the cheapest price.

if it was someone else i dont know, i would have gotten angry.

I view it as a sign that I must be bidding on a good product if a fellow SF'er outbids me. Plus, I know it will go to a good home.

Funny - Randy Cohen, the NYT Magazine "The Ethicist" columnist, recently told an inquirer that tacit or spoke agreements not to bid on the same items in auctions is immoral and in some cases illegal.

I thought he was smoking the coke, but hey, what do I know?

How did they turn out? I almost bid myself but couldn't guess the size, and saw the auction late.

I don't mind that it goes to a SF member.. it's more that I know I have to compete with them, because not too too many people will be looking for the stuff that we look for i.e. the unfortunate guy with the same shoe size as aportnoy and the propensity to purchase EG/JL.

They are quite nice, although suited for slim shoes. The size, and length are adjustable via a screw mechanism.

The logo, and lettering were clearly hand-done.
