Loro Piana Walking Shoes - Thoughts/Reviews?

The sole. Wouldn’t it wear out pretty quick? I live in nyc so probably walk more than average person in another city that’s more car friendly.

The soles are already rubber. Would be rather odd to put more rubber on them?

You can't really re-sole them, so once they are worn down that's the end of it. But they are a luxury item, and not something you buy to pass on to the grandkids.

That being said, I do find that they stand up quite well to use. I use mine regularly. My first pair is a bit over two years old with no sign of giving up.

What’s the difference between open walks and summer walks? Someone mentioned the open walks are lined but from what I see, they are the same as the summer walks..

The Loro Piana walking shoes are made by Santoni . You might as well buy them from the company that makes them and save yourself 25 to 30 %. If your in the UK Robert old in Bournemouth sells them . If your in Europe or America let are lot's of stockists . They occasionally appear on yoox , that's where I got my pair .

Nope, Santoni does not make the Open Walk style shoes for Loro Piana. It's not Santoni but rather a smaller company based just outside of Florence. I've actually heard that Santoni (and almost everyone else who is making the same type of shoe nowadays) use the same factory.
