I know SF favors slim fits, but I'm 5'10", 210 pounds, and have a 34 inch waist, so slim fits don't work, at least not for my lower body. What are some relatively inexpensive chinos with a loose fit?

I'd like my parents who live in Chicago to see what they can pick up for me on sale, so trying stuff on is not an option. I've got a two-year-old pair of relaxed-fit Dockers which still fit well, but the regular Dockers I tried on at the same time were far too tight ********** already, and I've gained at least 30 pounds since then without going up a waist size.

JCrew, either Relaxed or Giant fit are both good options.

How about Martin Gordon chinos? STP has them at a very tempting price in my (waist) size and they're described as "relaxed". Are they decent quality and do they have a big butt, or just fuller thighs?

I'm thinking at this price it might be worth taking the risk that they don't fit. I can always give them to one of my skinny cousins. I have cousins who wear the same size but are 30-50 pounds lighter.

How do you wear the same size as people 30-50 lbs. lighter? How do you gain 30 lbs. and not increase your waist size?

Roughly the same amount of fat and similar height, just more meat. I do wear a larger size in shirts and jackets than they do, though one cousin with a much larger frame wears almost the same size in everything in spite of being some 30 pounds lighter.

Thanks, those should be another good option.

Oh, okay. I got the impression you were just gaining weight, not putting on muscle mass.

Are you sure about this, OP? I'm 5'6" @ 180lbs and loose fit chinos look like **** on me. Of course I can never wear those very slim cut trousers but some brands have a slim cut or straight cut line that won't look like bandage wrapped around your legs.

I'm not sure whether anything really looks good on me, but ****** is big and it does need a lot of room to not be too prominent. My legs are almost never the problem.
