he said he wasn't sure if he wasn't going to get it when i was last in there. he had a few samples of somet and loopwheeler in there. when i asked him about the loopwheeler he said it would probably be a bigger gamble than denim as the difference in cotton and weave is real deep and difficult to notice without prior knowing. They're def getting somet, but he seemed on the fence about loopwheeler a few weeks ago when i last spoke with him. Another thing he said he had to consider was the prior record loopwheeler has had in the states, it didn;t sell to well before.....

Well, the only place that had Loopwheeler before, iirc, was Jack Spade, which carried only the basic sweatshirt, afaik. However, not only do I imagine that Blue in Green caters to a significantly different demographic than Jack Spade, although there is some overlap in the core values of those customers (both carry brands that are very much focused on "authenticity" and classic Americana) but I also think that the American customer's love affair with heritage inspired clothing right now, what with Engineered Garments, Loden Dagr, Rogues Gallery, Freemans, Jean Shop, 5EP, and so on taking up so much space on boutique shelves, would make Loopwheeler an easier sell than it was 3 years ago.

Boy, that was a long sentence.

agree, we'll see. the love affair seems to be a trend though...we'll have to see how long that lasts. it's one thing to carry a brand that's constantly changing and modifying their lines versus someone like loopwheeler who has one product basically...

1) When the trend dies down, and/or a brand doesn't sell anymore, a retailer can drop the line.

2) Loopwheeler has so changed. I mean, to begin with, hooded sweatshirts are relatively recent invention compared to the crew neck kind. And zip up sweatshirts are even more recent. And slim fit, zip up hooded sweatshirts? Very recent indeed. Loopwheeler uses one basic material. They can make tons of designs using it.

thats what i mean though, it seems they aren't really changing materials or styles (except that cashmere hoodie) they're just redoing fits...so if someone doesn't bite the first time, i don't know what the motivation would be to bring back a failed product. maybe i'm wrong, EG seems to be doing well for themselves and they just redo their jackets in different materials..
