Looking to "upgrade" my wardrobe

Thank you for checking out my thread.

I am looking to "upgrade" my wardrobe. My place of work is fine with wearing black pants (can be jeans) and a polo shirt. That is what I'm currently wearing now, but I would like to improve my appearance without looking like a "try hard".

I am looking to spend a maximum of $1000 on a spring/summer wardrobe (outdoors, indoors, tops, bottoms, shoes, socks, etc.). I would like the material to hold up to riding the subway everyday to and from work (getting my shoes stepped on by other riders and dirt from the seats possibly getting on my clothes).

The style I would like would be a "classic-modern" blend (cool, smart, a gentleman, doesn't take things too seriously, but isn't a pushover).

Any suggestions as to what I should look for (brands, designs, materials, etc.) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you again.

You rang?

It sounds possible, but consider the lack of replies so far. What you look like and location are important. Non-leather soles and cotton sound like part of the recipe.

Welcome to SF. I hate to say this, but please try searching the forum and looking around. Questions similar to yours have been asked many times over, and there is some good information on the forum if you but looked around. If you are looking for ideas and inspirations, I'd recommend the WAYWRN thread - there are some great fits and ideas that you may want to reproduce in your wardrobe.
