I had been thinking a high two-button with flat front pants, but besides that, what else should I make sure to get as features on the suit, and what do I have to pay attention to?

This is a great thread and very informative for me. One of the previous posts mentioned getting a Bespoke, or MTM, with two pants. One flat front and one pleated. You say cost is not an object. I think 2 pants would be a great idea for versatility. I personally prefer pleated pants, but would certainly be interested in a Bespoke or MTM with 2 pants when I get to that point.

For me, the "experience" of MTM/Bespoke was a good investment.

When I first started ordering, I learned so many things that I didn't even think of when I was buying RTW. By going through the experience, you will also learn more about your body, and what type of clothes looks better on you. The small details that add up to make a great look are endless...and you can't gain the experience just by altering a RTW suit.

Also from my past experiences, the fit of MTM/Bespoke is better even on the first try...even if you fit perfectly in a RTW suit. That's another thing I learned...There is no such thing as a perfect fitting RTW suit!!

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
