Hey guys, I'm looking to buy my first tux, but I don't really wanna buy it online, as i like trying stuff on before buying them. I was wondering where NEW YORK CITY I can find a good 1 button peak lapel jacket with a formal waistcoat. The waistcoat could be single or double breasted, preferably low cut with lapels. something like http://www.oliverbrown.org.uk/evenin...at-4217-0.html. My price range is around $1000, maybe a bit over for jacket, trousers, and waistcoat. Anyone have any suggestions of where i can stop by? I'll be shopping in the city this weekend.

British American House has Canali.

My tux is Canali, and I really like it. (Have lots of Canali suits too)

For my money, Canali is the best off the rack option. If you're going to pay more than the Canali price point, you might as well go bespoke.

Does British American House have anything under 1000? That's my preferred price range (so bespoke is out of the question

Try Paul Stuart.
Another Forum member, ginger84, had good luck there recently.

i see that on brooks brothers website they sell a peak lapel single button in 38s and their golden fleece peak lapel single button in 37s. if you are really getting desperate, you could get one of those and have it altered. if you go to the store and they don't have it in stock, they will order it and you don't have to pay shipping. the golden fleece has free tailoring for life. plus, brooks is running a sale through april 8th for 25% off if you have/get one of their credit cards. 15% off for any other form of payment.
