Looking for two affordable, durable luggage recommendations

I need recommendations on affordable, durable, well-made, preferably good looking luggage.

1. Garment bag/suit bag
2. Small rolling carry-on (capable of 2-3 day trip)

Don't know about 1, but take a look at Rimowa for 2. The more expensive metal stuff looks very nice.

I don't know what you classify as affordable, but I use a filson duffle for short weekend trips. It fits everything I could need and is very durable. The only downside is that its pretty heavy for a duffle, so if you are going to be doing a lot of walking with it on your shoulder, it's not ideal. For longer trips I highly recommend rimowa. I use mine for trips that are 5+ days, but I know that make suit cases that are meant for shorter trips. It has held up very well, and has traveled with me all over the world. -LR

Might I recommend not getting black? I use some hand-me-down luggage from my stepfather that's black. You don't wanna be the guy carefully inspecting every damn black bag on the carousel to find yours.

not sure how much affordable to you...I know Filson gets plenty of love here, but I've never owned one so cannot comment on that...

I've been using my Hartmann's and Tumi's for 20+ years...business, pleasure you name it and couldn't ask for more....

+1. Also, add the Travelpro Platinum lines. I've found I like the aesthetics of these over the Briggs & Riley. Some of the Eagle Creek pieces have the same, but I've found them to be pretty ugly.

If these are ever going to be checked, you want a rock solid warranty. Also, I would think the Hartmann tweeds would get beat up pretty bad.
