something kinda retro and thick enough to draw attention from the thick lenses that i have. ( i'm almost blind) unfortunately thick lenses usually do better with smaller frames as the bigger the frames get, the thicker and heavier the lens gets. I know this is more of a 2007-ish look but believe it or not, it fits my round face well

Then for sure don't try any on...
You'll be tricking on 53rd and 3rd for JMM money.

for less than JMM:
Salt Optics (though not as chunky)
Moscot (e.g. their Nebb frame)
Retrosuperfuture
Effector

also BTW you will always get more useful recommendations if you provide your budget.

@tartaruga , I have no clue obviously as to your particular prescription, but are there high density lenses which will provide similar optics but not require as much thickness? Is that an option?

As someone mentioned above, Jacques Marie Mage makes incredible frames. But it's true that they're painfully expensive. FWIW, they have a new frame coming out called the Jeff, which is similar to what you posted (although I think the JMM shape is a bit better). If you're able to try one on, I recommend it.

Last holiday season, there were some sales here and there, but frames were still around $500-ish.

I’ve never bought for more than about 250 bucks up until now. I was hoping to not go muchhigher than that being that my actual lenses are about the seame price

Look at Curry and Paxton. Variations on a theme, but I like them and the make is good.
