Hey all,
Let me give you a little background first. I am 17, almost 18. I weigh 125lbs and am 6ft tall. My usual suit jacket size is a 36 or 37,and pants around a 28 or 29 (30 with belt). I'm in the mood for buying another suit, something that when paired with the right shirt will make me look very professional, but not too overdressed. I'm also looking for something a little more unique. I can spend no more than 150$, so I'm sort of limiting myself to ebay us/uk and people who sell on this forum. As for the colors I'm looking for, either a nice navy blue(solid or pinstripe), or a black pinstripe. I am not sure what would look better on me, I have always worn 3 button suits, but I was told to make myself look a little bigger to wear a higher 2 button. I'm also interested in the peak lapel, I love that style but they are so hard to come by because they are "old fashioned". As far as the shirt goes, I love the shirt I saw in casino royale, it has almost a stripe in it but its very subtle, it could just be the material the shirt is made out of. I've been trying to find a substitute or something like it but no luck yet. Im sticking with white, red, and black dress shirts because I love how they look on me.

with all this information, maybe you could lend me a helping hand!

Thanks,
Hunter

Are you in Britain or North America? A black pinstripe is useless in North America. What are your current suit colours? A solid navy is an ideal first or second suit (especially with skin colouring that is highlighted by white, red, and black shirts). Peak lapels are not old-fashioned, they're in fashion - which is why you can't find them for < $150.

I would send you to H&M if you were willing to shop offline? Yeah, with your height you should probably be wearing two-button. Don't worry about your suit being "unique" - shirts and ties can provide that - worry about it fitting perfectly.

I think a solid color would be more flattering, to you. Stripes can elongate the silhouette. You don't need that. I would go with the navy, for now. Black is more dramatic. Can be considered less versatile. Save your black suit, for a later purchase. JMHO. A peak lapel, draws the eye upward. Personally, I would consider a notch lapel, which will be more rhythmic. Less punctuated.

So far as your shirt, you might want to consider a higher collar, if your neck is on the long side. Depending on your purposes a white shirt, while perhaps somewhat expected, is quite functional. A stripe would be okay, but I would balance the stripes outward, with a patterned tie. You're very young. Have fun with your wardrobe, but remember that if you buy too many things according to current trends, you'll be throwing them out, next year.

Hahahahaha I need to look at the dates of posts more. If not for our friend Luftvier here I would have weighed in with my $.02 on a topic long gone.

Not to be judgmental, but adding 20 to 30lbs will make you look better than any suit could. 125lbs is borderline anorexic and far past the border of healthy.
