I am looking at some Westchesters and MacNeils. AE site has some MacNeils on clearance at what seem to be a good level. Have only been able to find minimal discounts on the Westchesters.

Couple questions:

What have your experiences been with both shoes? How do they run size wise?

and

What should be my target prices for both? What prices should I not pass on for both?

Looking at the calf in both...

Thnx!

I'm a newbie, but I got this:

Look just to the left of "Welcome, classicusa" in the top right. Type "allen edmonds" in that box. Or "Westchseter." Or "MacNeil." Hit enter.

If there is one topic this board has covered extensively, thoroughly, in depth, redundantly, and repeatedly, it is AE shoes. I just used all that information. Twice.

I just bought a pair of Aldo shoes, I know I know, they look good though, but I'm wondering if i'm better off returing them and getting a used pair of AE's on ebay for $90 all said and done...

Yes you're prob better off buying used AEs than new Aldo shoes

I have the MacNeils and find them to be very comfortable. They fit true to size. $250 for them is pretty decent though not necessarily a price you can't pass on. I paid about $260 for mine. I'd say under $200 is a really good deal for AEs classic line, but they are not approaching can't-pass-on levels until they're less than $150. Unfortunately, staple shoes like the MacNeils are pretty hard to find in the $150 range, so you should probably get them now if you can afford them and need/want them.

I bought a pair of MacNeils a few months ago and absolutely love them--they are a really sharp longwing. I would say they run pretty true to size (if anything, maybe just a hint wide).

On price, it looks like the going rate is around $200-$220 on ebay for a new pair, which is pretty good given that seconds at AE are about $260.
