Looking for some advice

Help, so I have come to realize that I over buy and I over buy what essentially becomes throw away clothing mostly coming from BR, gap, j crew, express ect.. I wear mostly solid color layers almost always starting with a solid crew or v neck t with a zippered hoodie or cardigan or an Oxford with a sweater or cardigan over. I like to layer because although I live in the Midwest, I often get hot indoors in the middle of wintery. For pants I just trimmed my closet dowm to a pair of raw vintage line 501s, am about to pick up some selvedge rrl and I have a pair of 7 for all chinos. basically I am looking to improve my tops along the same lines.
