I have, sitting in front of me, what seems to me to be a very rare production of some socks I bought several years ago. I need to buy some more but I've literally tried everywhere (K-Mart, Target, Wal-Mart, JCPenny, Amazon.com, eBay...and "everything" is on eBay). Here's what the package says:
"Fruit of the Loom, 6 Men's Socks, Reinforced, Over the Calf, Tube, soft cushioned cotton"

These are the only black tube socks I have ever owned that I absolutely love. You literally can't tell the difference between these and a pair of dress black socks (they do fade though but only after many washings) AND they are MUCH warmer and infinitely more comfortable than dress socks. I originally bought only one package but when my mother saw them she was "so relieved her child had finally stopped wearing white/gray socks with dark dress slacks", I went out and bought a couple more packages. Had I known it was going to be this ridiculously difficult to find them in the future, I would have stocked up on a lifetime supply.

(And yes, I only wear over-the-calf, tube socks - everything seems to be "crew" these days, which is VERY uncomfortable to wear. Why only white and gray cotton socks? You see every particle of dirt and all discolorations with white and gray doesn't color match with anything. Black cotton socks actually make sense.)
