Looking for options/SOS

As I stated in another thread, I teach 10th grade in Houston, Texas. Now, the climate down here does not lend itself to following slavishly to guidelines set by those in cooler locales. But as the seasons continue their progression I have run into a snag:

In the morning and evening (and sometimes in my classroom), I need something to wear to keep warm. I don't want a jacket or windbreaker because it's too coach-esque.

Can the gods of style on this forum give me some hints or tips?

Sure - wear a cardigan sweater. The kids will get tired of making Mr. Rogers jokes after a bit.

They never get tired of making jokes.

That being said, they don't know who Mr. Rogers is.

You've said you wear jackets. A v-neck sweater over a dress shirt and (when not too warm) under a jacket is classic and won't risk the ridicule a cardigan would. The only problem is if you wouldn't be wearing the sweater throughout the school day.

I live in Houston and agree with both the cardigan and v-neck, especially if it's a nice light cashmere.
