Looking for information on tie construction

As the title states...I've searched but haven't been able to find what I'm looking for.

I'm presently looking for information on the different kinds of construction for ties - how they're made, the impact or use of different fabrics for certain types of ties (grenadine, X-folds, etc).

Would anybody be able to point me to some resources?

Thanks.

You could probably write a book on the subject. It might be worth asking specific questions that people could answer rather than just "tell me everything".

Areas for you to google:

Cravat - Serbo-Croatian origins
Construction of a Tie
7 Fold ties
Knit ties
Woven Ties
Hermes and Ties

That will give you the very basics. Once you understand them you will be able to move into more specific areas. An introduction from a member such as Sam Hober would be 20+ paragraphs, which few are likely to want to write out.

Look at www.SamHober.com , there's some cool stuff on there. (And he's on the forum (Dave? is his name), company is named after his daughter if I remember correctly).

Search for threads started by Vox. You'll find his thread explaining it all in detail.
