I need to find a braided leather belt to get my father for Christmas. The few that I've found in the local mall are horrid - lightweight, low quality, and overpriced. I'm willing to pay a bit, but I wan't to a belt that's as solid as a brick sh*t house. Unfortunately affiliate Saddleback Leather Co. doesn't seem to offer any belts, but that should give you an idea of what I'm after. Any ideas as to where I can find this?

^^

Are these any good, though? Ever since poor experiences with a number of expensive Polo belts that seemed very nice but fell apart, I'm skeptical of belts from large retailers, even Brooks.

I haven't seen them in person, but your local BB will order them so you can examine them.

I like what I see, but the site looks a little home-spun. Any experience using these guys? How was customer service?

Yea I know, the site is amateurish. But their service is top-notch. Search the forum, LGC is legit.

I'm still having trouble finding one of these. Everything I've seen in stores is cheap **** or sorely overpriced. I need something dressy enough to be worn with a coat, but rugged and less than $100. Any help?

Bump. Sorry, but this an irritating dilema. Doesn't anyone know?

Maybe a C&J belt? Don't know about the braided ones but I'm very happy with my C&J suede belt.
