Any idea how Kent Wang's grenadines compare to Sam Hober's in terms of quality?

Great thread. I just started looking for a navy and a maroon grenadine tie. I have seen the different websites, seems all are about the same price. I want to try Kent Wang, but I have not seen any reviews of his ties.

Re: manufacturing times - I think it's actually down to about 3 weeks or so now, plus another 1 week or so for shipping (or at least that was might last experience when I ordered a few weeks ago). I think he's managed to up his turnaround by hiring and training new staff.

Sounds like it's down to about 4 weeks total. If that's correct, they are well worth it if you can wait, especially since they are custom so you get to decide the width, length, lining, etc.

Gentlemen, Thank you for your kind words. Recently, a client of ours compared our Fermo Fossati grenadine silk to a Drakes ready made grenadine tie and observed that the silk looked to be the same. I have also looked in the past at a few other makers that have beautiful grenadine silk. Where our ties differ is in the making - we only make custom made/bespoke ties and our attention to small details is what makes our ties beautiful. We are happy to work with you on the length, width, shape, weight, construction and so on... Your order is not finished until you are happy. We also keep on hand the largest selection of grenadine silks that I have seen. We are thinking about adding a selection of grenadine stripes in classic colors. We are one of the few true bespoke makers of grenadine ties. Swatches are available of course if you need an exact color. Currently, our rough wait time is 3 weeks to have an order made with 1 to 3 weeks for mailing depending on what mailing option you pick. Usually, we can make a tie faster for a wedding or other special event.

Call Paul Winston at Chipp2 in New York - (212) 687-0850. If he's got the color you want, the price cannot be beaten.

Paul Stuart had a run of fantastic x-fold (don't know how many, but the ties are at least self-tipped if not some type of fold-- 6 or 7 or 3 I don't know) grenadines made in NY this summer. I think they still stock them, though they were "limited edition". The grey color is quite good -- the perfect shade for navy suits. $89 I think, which is quite cheap relative to the other ties mentioned in this thread, except for Press and maybe H&H.

See it worn here (color is off a bit, though): http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=143867

What are the colors on those Kent Wang ties? I only wish they were a tad bit wider.

Navy and Burgundy. You don't want them any wider, trust me. They are 3.5",I wouldn't want them to be 3.75".
