Well the title says it all. I am looking for your collective help in finding an OTR blue blazer with patch pockets. Wool preferably. Willing to pay up to $500. I know banana republic has one but i have tried that one on and the fit was all wrong. I know I could go MTM but I just want to see if there is anything else out there that may be an option before I have to seek a MTM program in the Harrisburg, PA area (not very many options).

I'm also looking for a new blue blazer with patch pockets in a similar price range, does anyone know of anywhere in the UK?

I know it's BR. But I tried this one on and it's a very slim fit and it seems to be well built. I might get it when it goes on sale. http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse...845&pid=619670 edit: nevermind I just read you just tried on the BR. Did you size up? I had to go two sizes up to get the best fit

I've been looking for weeks without real success - this is the best I've found:

It's okay (pretty good for the price) but nothing special.

^ actually, I'm pretty impressed M&S do a patch pocket blazer at all. Doesn't look bad either. They probably have their usually flimsy-feeling "gold" buttons on it though. They'd need swapping out. But not bad at all!

I thought I would help you by pointing you to Press, Brooks Brothers or O'Connel's, but none of them have one on their online catalog. It is a classic trad item.
That leaves the Andover shop, which carries this:

It is $175 above your price range, but perhaps they are having a winter sale.
In any event, they are a great shop and you should be happy with anything you get from them.
Give them a call, though it would be a pity if you bought this without the benefit of being measured and fitted. It is a long drive from Harrisburg, though.

I have that M&S blazer, you could fit a double decker bus through its armholes.

+1 on the Southwick doeskin flannel blazer from The Andover Shop. $675, you can order it in either a 2B or 3B sack - with patch and flap pockets. At least give them a call...
