looking for a slim-fitting overcoat

i'm in the market for a slim-fitting overcoat. in terms of color, i'm leaning toward gray (less mundane); otherwise, black. i'm not set on the length, but i'm thinking something a little longer (but not full-length). out of all the coats i've looked at, i found the light gray plaid wool coat at façonnable (http://www.faconnable.com/#/uk/men/urban/) the most visually interesting (though i wonder if i should consider something more conservative). but they are out of that item.

my main problem with shopping in stores is that they never carry anything in my size. i'm about 5'9"-5'10" with a 29-30" waist, and i wear a size 36r suit (although even this is a bit too large for me).

any suggestions on where i should go? i've visited a number of stores in manhattan already, and i've looked online (yoox, bluefly, major department stores, revolve, shopstyle, ssense, etc.), but i haven't found anything i've really liked.

thanks!

I've got a gray Diesel "Woba" jacket that fits slim and looks great with a suit or jeans and a hoodie. I got a small and I'm 5'9 148ish pounds. Since it is from last season, I'll bet if you googled it you could find it a deep discount.

The BR tri-blend car coat is pretty slim fitting. I got one - it is slim fitting with high armholes. At 5'6", 130lbs, I still had to take the sides in a bit, but not too much. It is more of a casual look though.

thanks for the suggestion. it's not bad, but i'm not in love with it. i'll bookmark it, though.

i'm worried that it might be too big, considering how the smallest size is a 38 and a 36 is usually a little large on me.

Hmmm, you're right - the BR car coat seems to have disappeared online. That's too bad - looks like the winter merchandise is being replaced by the spring stuff already. Maybe you can check with the local BR store to see if they have one in stock.

I just recently purchased a Benetton 40S topcoat...It barely fits over my 38 suits. I measured the shoulder to shoulder measurments later and it's only 18.5 inches across (same as my suit jackets...no wonder) Arms and waist are super slim. But it's Navy blue. I don't think I can wear it over mysuit jackets...

i might consider a larger size in order to accommodate sweaters, etc., but i'm worried about the fit.

how's this? http://www.thekooples.com/page-liste...&idArticle=131

i'm thinking the 46 should be good. it's hard to get an idea of the fit from the pictures, though. it'd be nice to have a clear picture of the front.

also, i'm beginning to think that i should consider japanese brands, given their styling and my body shape. are there any particular coat brands that i should check out?

Check in to BOSS Hugo Boss. Nice slim fit. I picked one up for 40% off of $595 at Macy's today.
