Looking for a pair of brown loafers

I'm looking for recommendations for a pair of brown loafers. I intent to wear them primarily with business casual dress (dress slacks and the occasion sport coat/blazer). I'm far more likely to wear them casually than with a suit, but I'd prefer something on the dressier side. I'd also like a substantial shoe, something with a little more heft with a little more heft than Zenga (like a much better made, leather soled Rockport). I'm thinking of something in the three to five hundred MSRP range.

Lately, I've been looking at:

Allen-Edmonds - Thayer (not brown or in my size)

Allen-Edmonds - Canelli (only on ebay and not in my size)
http://www.amazon.com/Allen-Edmonds-...7507153&sr=8-1

What do you suggest?

If you're looking at AE I would suggest the Randolph or the Parkland, both of which can be had in chili. The Parklands have been discontinued so you can get better deals on them. They are on different lasts but I have both and like both of them.

I've never tried on AEs, but $149 for these seems too good to pass up; I love the look of them:

I usually wear a size 11 medium, but sometimes 11.5, depending on the shoe. The only other pair of decent shoes I own is nowhere near as nice as these (a pair of black Bostonians), which are size 11. Anyone know how this pair might run in comparison?
