I was just thinking to myself how nice it would be to have a cool slim fitting mackintosh coat to wear in the city and in wet weather.

You don't really hear about them that often anymore.

Does anyone have any information regarding this enigma of streetwear? Maybe some places to find them, good brands, personal recommendations, etc?

YMC had one out for A/W 07, i picked up an olive one, very slim-fitting with a modern silhouette, I've a couple of Mackintosh's as well and the YMC has become my favourite. I'm going to get some MTM copies of it done up in different colourways...

A.P.C is a good bet for a modern interpretation(Timpoblete posted an A.P.C one he picked up in a recent WAYWT) and I know Filippa K tends to have one n her summer collections...You could always get an original Mackintosh, their cuts & styles the last few years have been fantastic but I don't know how easy they are to find outside the Uk & Japan...Aquascutum, Burberry, Margaret Howell, Oliver Spencer & Alan Stevens are all other options...

There was a guy wearing a London Fog one in WAYWT not too long ago, looked pretty good.

Edit: Found it.

You could run true to size or size down. In the mac that I have I think it's a 50 where my Jil suits are a 52 and other Jil outwear I have is a 52.

It's light, unlined and treated inside with a coating to make it very water resistant and helps regulate temp.

The other versions on Yoox would fit similar to J's jacket I would say.

Not sure if anyone is still responding to this thread, but I'm in the market for a nice Mackintosh and came across this forum. I love the look of the London Fog style that is pictured here. Anyone know where I can find this jacket or even a similar one? I love the look of the Duncan style Mackintosh, but don't want to spend $800+.
