They aren't black but if you want a wallet that will last a long time and is well made try a Filson. I have several Filson wallets and I put them through hell. They've gone swimming, gotten soaked in repeated downpours, one got the washing machine treatment. The color hasn't faded and all I do is let them air dry and apply a liberal dose of boot oil and it's all good. The leather has gotten a rather pleasant distressed look after years of abuse.

Anyone have any experience with stingray? Ive heard its incredibly durable. I'm considering either getting one of those or a credit card holder combined with a money clip (clip money around credit card holder, to keep it all together)

I have had some of my best wallets from all places...Guess. I hate a fat thick wallet with leather that takes a year to break in. They have some very soft leathers that hold their shape, while still looking good.

I bought one of these recently:

- the back pocket is just big enough for a few notes and, as it's a credit card case, it's pretty small and thin compared to a typical wallet.

Did you know that wearing a wallet in your back pocket can seriously effect your spinal alignment an cause exacerbated back pain and fatigue. I suffer from a degenerating arthritic condition in L5 which causes severe pain when I do something foolish. A therapist suggested that I not wear a wallet in my back pocket for this is the cause of many spinal maladies.

I've had tons of wallets, money clips, etc. Got a few thousand dollars worth in a cabinet actually. They've all been replaced from a rubber band. Best cent I ever spent-

I like what I saw on Gurkha's site. Very nice items. I might have to order something just for a hands on experience.

Have a reindeer skin wallet that I bought in Stockmann's department store in Helsinki about five years ago ,.not one stich has come adrift and it has developed a lovely patina. If it needs replacing would go back there for a new one.
