    Hi everyone,

I'm presently looking for a local store to buy dress shoes in Montreal. I'm not looking for chain stores such as Harry Rosen, but more for a local, maybe not well known, store. I'd rather not buy from well-known brands such as Boss.

For example, I'm a pretty big fan of Paul Evans' shoes, but they only have a store in New York ( http://www.paulevansny.com/ ).
Wondering if we have something similar here in Montreal.

    Looking forward for your suggestions!

    Regards.

I am going to move this thread to Menswear advice, where you will more likely get the advice you seek.

I would say that you mihg true Clusier, which carries Carmina: http://clusier.com/shoes
David's shoes also carries some more moderately priced shoes: http://www.davidsfootwear.com/index.php?target=categories&category_id=181
If you want to go higher end, and go for things like John Lobb and Edward Greens, you can go to L'Uomo: http://luomo-montreal.com/en/edward-green-3/

Paul Evans does a decent job, but really, Carmina are as about a good a deal as you get

Hi LA Guy, thanks for your advice.

I'm looking more for the 200-500$ bracket. Do you have any suggestions?

    Regards.

    Maybe something like this: http://www.davidsfootwear.com/frazier.html#.VxgQ4fkrKvg

House brands are often a relative deal, but I don't know David's personally, so you'll need to see them in person!

Harry Rosen, Holt Renfrew, The bay and Arthur are good place to look for brand dress shoes in that price category.
