Could possibly work depending on fabrication. However, I really don't like to pair a light top with a darker bottom; just a matter of personal preference when it comes to pairing coats and trousers.

Wear them in when you know she won't be looking (like late at night).

Also, when asked if new, I often use the "I bought it last year during the end of season sale to replace that X that you hate/doesn't fit/is worn out" etc. That way the financial blow is long gone and it's softened a purported reason to buy.

Beautiful jacket, Foxx.  You're mainly interested in pants in this thread, but for some ideas about shirts, you might consider a thread I started a couple of weeks ago.  You can find it on (currently) Page 9 of the Forum, with the subject: "Help in Choosing Shirt Colors."  It's very interesting (almost uncanny) just how similar in color and pattern your new jacket and mine are.  I'll use the pants suggestions here with my jacket.

Most shirt suggestions were towards the orange part of the spectrum.  Tan, cream, and yellow also work well, and I've just discovered that a very pale light green works very well.  I had problems with any blues--all blue shirts seemed to suck all the blue out of the jacket and make it look drab, even the very light ones, but particularly the more intense blue shades.  I think these colors that have worked for me will also work well in shirts with your new jacket.

With regard to smuggling, I always use the "I ordered this a few months ago and it just came in. Remember, I told you about it then." [IMG]

I agree with most of the suggestions so far for trousers, especially the contrarian navy one. I also have a pair of charcoal gray Zanellas that would look nice. And, maybe better, a black pair of Zanellas. In fact, if it's a 42L, why not just give it to me and avoid any wife hassles? [IMG]

Right, cause there is another, perfectly legit way to expalin the $300 c.c. transaction (assuming an Ebay purchase, right?) with a random party. Not that I would know the details, of course.

Do strippers take paypal? This opens a whole new avenue. Yes, honey, "*PAYPAL SCORES" is for that jacket I bought. Yup, yup.

A lot of these tips really, really should not be on a publicly-viewed board.

    I jest, not.

All the tips posted here are mostly amature (except Steve B.'s, that's damn clever). Growing up, I've seen my mother hide a half dozen large shopping bags with ease (my dad would have flipped.). Women are definitely capable of more devious tricks.

My girlfriend's mother has slowly taken control of all the incoming bills just to hide her shopping addiction.

good suggestions-- i might look for a pair of navy trousers this weekend, and i might be able to pull off the jacket with flat front bills khakis (altho shoes with this, i have no idea).

like the idea of grey trousers, kinda different-- will see what i can do with that one.

bachbeet-- lucky for you, i have switched to 42short in Brioni, to better meet the flusser philosophies of jacket and sleeve length (looking forward to having functional sleeve buttons put on by atlanta custom tailors)

You married guys crack me up.  You need to put your foot down and say (using Cartman's voice), "RESPECT MY AUTHORITY."

    Or get separate checking accounts.
