The second night is always easier than the first.
Probably about 3 days. I remember sitting down and thinking "I still feel pretty ok" and waking up 15 hours later.
36 hours many times.
I slept 45 minutes every day last week and yesterday slept 20 hours. I just woke up.
I notice that when I don't sleep I get really bloated. I look about 10 lbs lighter this morning.
About 12 hours.
Sober or non-sober?
Nothing like that sketchy feeling of not being sober and not being able to count the hours you've been awake.
Sober, probably 24 hours.
College life -- 48 hours -- after prof refused to grant extension for a term paper.
Working life -- a little in excess of 48 hours -- defending a tender offer made for a publicly-traded client.
Parenting life -- 24 hours -- waiting for the first kid to drop.
I've gone 3 days without sleep. That was years ago. Rarely can I watch a baseball game on TV without dozing off now.
I just saw this on the front page: "Longest you have ever gone...
i thought it ended with:
...without taking a shit"
Even when at Uni I found it hard to make it past 36 hours, I think I may have got close to 40 at one point but then the temptation to just go to bed is too strong...at that point I'm also way too tired to concentrate enough to get any meaningful work done...
About 100 hours, packing to move overseas on short notice. Just didn't have time for sleep, but I slept the 8 hour flight after and was fine.
edit. I never want to do it again
Damn there are some big-tymers in here. I'm a novice who topped out around 48 hours.
I've had my share of all-nighters but only one double all-nighter + full day of work (~55 hours?). My body was aching on the third day.
Roughly 3 days. It ended when I was walking in my living room, tripped on the carpet and hit the ground face first. I fell asleep almost immediately upon hitting the floor.
I did a bunch of all nighters in college ~36 hours, those were no problem. I did a 60 hour, adderall-fueled studying binge during finals once. That was out of control.
