Long term storage for suits

I need to store some of my close for about a year and my only option is to store them in a storage unit. My concern is storing some suits I have recently purchased. I don't want to store these suits in any kind of box (folded) as I am sure this will damage them. I have been thinking of buying a canvas storage closet with cedar panels and hanging the suits on cedar hangers to keep moths away. I am wondering if I should be conernced about rodents. Will they likely chew through clothing? Any way I can ensure long term storage of my beloved suits without any damage? Any suggestions for long term storage would be very appreciated.

I store my clothes for periods of about a year pretty often-- I would recommend a climate controlled storage unit for your household goods, and put your tailored clothes in the canvas wardrobe cases available from places like the container store-- each holds about 5 suits comfortably/ space between to breathe. they are easy to put together and protect your clothes without smashing or damaging them.

I don't think storing tailored clothing rolled and in boxes will damage your stuff, but it would pretty much make a mass-pressing expense necc when you return home and want to wear the stuff again. This is the option I went with this time around, and just decided to suck it up since I'll be moving to a new home when I return to the USA, movers won't handle the canvas cases very well!

make sure the canvas storage closet is 100% sealable. suits have to be completely clean, do not store anything with remnants of hair, skin cells, food particles ,etc. yours are recently purchased so should be fine. cedar is fine in completely sealed storage unit. hangar that is cedar are usually varnished so they won' t really work. rodents shouldnt be attracted to anything in your suits unless you have large amounts of food in them.

Great advice by these guys! I second @The_Foxx's suggestion if you can afford the climate controlled aspect of storage. Another would be that because storage units are generally private once rented out, you should come back to your self storage unit to "spot check" every so often just to give it a quick clean out and see if there are any issues you would like to highlight to the staff at the facility. Our staff would be more than happy to advise you further and supply some tips and tricks to maximise your storage unit.
