London vs. Toronto: How much cheaper are clothes, shoes, accessories in Toronto?

I'm going to Toronto soon and wanted to do some shopping if it's significantly cheaper than London.

I know the US is very close but travelling there from Toronto is not possible on this trip.

Anyone with experience shopping in London and Toronto? What do you guys think?

Cheers

Get your shoes collection sorted before moving. I heard that it is pretty expensive there.

I assume you mean London, UK.

I've lived in both cities. London, by far, has a greater selection and will, most likely, have better prices -- especially, for UK made shoes. However, the Canadian dollar is very weak atm, some North-American brands might be cheaper in Toronto, but those are rare occurences. If you are about to become a Canadian resident, and hence not a resident of the EU, you can claim a VAT refund on all your goods. The procedure would be quite tricky, and I recall you have to be able to demonstrate you will not return to the EU as a resident in the subsequent 365 days.

I have got to admit that this is the first time I discover that there is actually a city called London in Canada. Thanks

And yes, in my post above I was thinking about London in the UK - now I am not sure which "London" the original poster was talking about.

Yeah I do mean London UK. I had heard there was a London in Canada too.

Thanks for that very good info although I'll only be in Toronto on business for a few days.

Are clothes and shoes more expensive in Toronto than the rest of Canada? How about the US, how much more expensive is Canada compared to the US?
