Hello!

I'm quite new to London and have just scored a job and am in need of some new business shirts.
Probably after 2 to 3 shirts, budget of up to 40 to 50 pounds a shirt.

Can someone recommend some good stores and/or shirt makers/brands that fit this bill?

Naturally, if you have suggestions of places with good sales or places I can get some decent shirts for even less, I'm all ears.

Thanks very much!

Hi, I now live in Australia (where I hail from) but was, until recently, living and working in London for 2 years as a solicitor.

A good place to get decent, reasonably priced business shirts is TM Lewin, who are located all over central London. Their shirts usually sell for about 25 quid. I like their slim fit shirts, with a cut away collar. One word of warning - I found there is a fair bit of collar shrinkage, so I suggest going 1 neck size larger than you usually would.

A step up would be Harvie & Hudson, whose store is located in Jermyn St. The H&H shirts are cut pretty full in the body, so you may need to get a local tailor to adjust them afterwards.

Hope this helps!

You can find good shirts for that price (if on sale) at Turnbull & Asser. Walk through Jermyn St (Close to the Ritz at Green Park) and most good shirt stores are there.

Harvie & Hudson shirts are on sale right now, 33 GBP instead of 49.95 GBP (30 GBP for three or more). They have some slim-fit shirts as well. Here are some measurements, bottom of page 2: AAAC thread
